Sherson Architecture has delivered the new Emergency Unit to Wollongong Hospital to meet the care requirements of the ever-expanding population of greater Wollongong. The unit located on ground floor of the hospital and aims to provide care for patients coming from the emergency department for short stay treatment. The unit was designed with efficiency and practicality in mind, utilizing a radial plan where patient bays are located around the perimeter with central staff stations for passive observation and flow of movement. The materials, colour pallet and highlight glazing are designed to give a natural, light and calm feel to the space while providing a professional healthcare facility.
